Process Monitor Device
The Process Monitor Device (P.M.D.) is designed to eliminate human error during the change over and assembly process. The system will monitor all part errors. On the operator screen, a graphical representation will display both feeder and nozzle errors. This allows operators to repair problem feeders or nozzles before defects can be caused. In short, data generated from the P.M.D. will allow quick diagnosis of production issues as well as satisfy management reporting requirements.
How Does It Work?
  • Feeders are given a unique ID
  • When parts are loaded, they are attached to the feeder. The operator scans in:
     - part number
     - quantity
     - vendor information
     - data code
     - feeder ID number

  • The P.M.D. identifies feeder changeovers based on the current program

  • The P.M.D. will track the feeder and part location whether it is on a machine or rack
     waiting to be used

  • All data is stored on a SQL database. Reports can be generated from anywhere in the
     facility. Customized reporting is available.
Benefits of the P.M.D.
Here are some of the main benefits of using the P.M.D. system:

• Eliminate human error (wrong parts on the machine)
• Automated changeover (reduces changeover time)
• Simplify troubleshooting (preempt defects)
• Traceability (parts usage, data codes, vendors)
• Locations of feeders and parts assigned are known
• Records both cycle and down time
